Loneliness is an increasing problem for many people in our local community. Isolation and loneliness can have serious consequences on a persons health and well being if not addressed. According to the organisation 'Campaign to end lonliness' over 50% of people over the age of 75 live alone, with almost four million older people reporting that their TV is their main source of company. Around 11 % of elderly people report that they have contact with other people, whether neighbours, friends or family, less than once a month.
